Program Length: 600 Hours
Program Objective:
This advanced training program is designed to prepare students for employment in the heating, air-conditioning, refrigeration and ventilation industry.
The Air-Conditioning Refrigeration and Heating Technology II program provides classroom and laboratory
(hands-on) experiences which enable students to become proficient in the installation, repair and maintenance of
air conditioning, refrigeration and heating systems. The laboratory contains a variety of residential central air
conditioning units and industry simulators.
The content of this program includes, but is not limited to the following:
- Recognize and identify basic construction drawing terms, components, and symbols
- Design heating and cooling systems
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair commercial heating and cooling systems
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of electrical generation and distribution components for commercial
heating and air conditioning systems - Maintain, test and adjust various commercial heating and air-conditioning accessories

Occupational Interest
This program consists of 600 hours and is a planned sequence of instruction consisting of three Occupational Completion Points (OCPs):

Full program completion:
- Completion of all program competencies
- Basic Skills Level TABE®: Math 10, Reading 9, Language 9; or
- Two (2) approved industry certifications

Salary
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics the average earnings in 2022 for Heating, Air Conditioning, and
Refrigeration Mechanics and Installers were $49,380 annually or $23.74 hourly.
- In-state: $1,906.00 (600 hours x $2.56= $1,536.00)
- Out-of-state: $6,520.00 (600 hours x $10.25= $6,150.00)
- Fees $35.00 x 2 terms = $70.00
- Books and supplies = $300.00
- Monday – Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
